Live Interpretation and Education

We provide professional costumed guides who present well-researched information in the form of tours, presentations, and other activities. Visitor engagement and interaction is of paramount importance (though never forced), all interpretation is site specific and events can be as simple or dramatic as required.

We also offer the services of a highly skilled and experienced team of musicians. They use high quality reproduction instruments and are able to use music as a means not only of entertaining, but as a tool with which to interpret a particular period or site.

To complete the picture we can provide the services of fools, acrobats and dancers. All of whom are experienced in providing such interpretation and entertainment in a historical setting.

We design and deliver education sessions which are meticulously researched, well grounded in the National Curriculum and enable children to gain extra insight from their visit to a historic site.

We are also able to provide workshops and lectures on a variety of historically related subjects suitable for adults of all ages.

Evaluation

As well as evaluating our own events we offer evaluation programmes for individual sites. Our methods include shadowing, visitor surveys and focus groups. We provide a comprehensive report with recommendations for improvement.

Research

Our team of researchers are all educated to a minimum of degree level and can be commissioned for books, films, television programmes, exhibitions as well as projects which lead to the re-interpretation of historic venues through live or written interpretation.

Training

Tailor made training programmes are designed for each individual site. We train all guides (costumed and non-costumed); front of house staff and other staff coming into contact with visitors to heritage sites.

Corporate Events

For sites providing corporate entertainment our guides can be employed either in costume or formal attire to give guided tours, presentations or offer interpretative conversation to guests during the evening. Our musicians provide a variety of services such as fanfares as your guests arrive; background music during the reception or dinner, or a mini – concert. Finally our fools and acrobats can offer a unique style of entertainment that will be long remembered by your guests.
